The one thing that we should all share is common, is a fun atmosphere in which we can all be creative in a vt environment. Try as we may, sometimes situations arise that cause the areas of vt and rt to be blurred. I am requesting those who roleplays in Miami By Night read this post and give it consideration.
The Guidelines:
1. Try not to take things personally. Sometimes this is hard to do. Especially when we have worked hard on our characters and something happens to mess up what we have been doing. This a part of Roleplay, however guideline number two can help prevent this from happening.
2. Respect other people and their characters. In fact, if you don't respect the work of others, it may lead to you being removed from Miami (Aka - banned). This should help minimize situations that might crush another person's rp.
3. Sometimes we roleplay with people we consider friends. In some cases, they may even be our significant other. Its important to separate the character from who you are. I have seen people lose friendships over this. It simply is not worth it. Role-play is meant to be fun. Keep the drama out of it.
4. If you are with someone in real life or with someone online, I do not advise sharing in sex scenes with other people. This is by no means a rule but a guideline. Ryan's rule is if im with someone, I do not do sex roleplays with anyone (except the person I am with).
5. Take time away from roleplay. Not only Miami by night but all role-plays. While life can enjoy good role-play moments, life is far more than just role-play. I have 2-3 nights a week where I am not actively doing role-play. From time to to time, I do try to take a few weeks off. This helps balance life.
6. If you are someone who enjoys sparring, make sure its not to boost your ego. In other words it must make sense for your character to be in the battle you are in. Miami by nights are about open roleplay (not endless battles and wars).
7. Post to the boards from time to time to show everyone you are interested in rp. If you need to be away for a period of time, post it in the ooc section.
These guidelines can help people have balance in their life and to make sure we all respect everyone's efforts and talents.
