People have asked me throughout the years of playing a Dahak, on what exactly the void is, and how we use it. You might have noticed there is no selection of powers called the void. However we do use Extra Dimensional properties, which cover the void itself.
What is the void? Its the absence of everything. It really is not all that complicated. So lets begin with that thought. If the void is the Absence of Everything, how come it has properties? Especially the Dahaks who claim to use the void and to be of the void? And if they are the void, doesn't take negate the idea that the void is the Absence of Everything? Good questions. Lets take a look at each one seperately.
If the void is the Absence of everything, how come it has properties?
Well on the most basic level, the void is empty space. Science sometimes calls this Absolute Zero (0 degrees K). So perhaps we should modify the defintion to say, the void is the absence of everything, within a set amount of space. Now then does the void have any other properties other than the 'space' it takes up? Not really! So this brings us to the second question.
How Does the Dahaks generate properties within the void? That answer goes back to their beginnings. Dahak is a god of the void. He has the ability to surround any area within a void, he also has the power to create properties within the void. He create the Dahaks (Void Daemons) within the void. They have a physical properties like any other being. So properties are created within the void, by those who have the ability to do so. Dahak also has created a Quasi-Physical realm within the void known as the Necropolis (The Dahak Underworld). Understand to get there, one must have 'access' to the void itself, or be damned to it by the Dahaks. If someone were to glance upon it, in any other way, they would see literally 'nothing'. If granted access within, then it becomes physical to them as well. Thus the term 'Quasi-Physical'.
This brings us to the Third question. If the Dahaks can create properties within the void, doesn't that negate our defition of the void as being empty space? No it doesn't. Because even if something created in the void, becomes physical, and takes up space, that doesn't mean there are not other locations that are of the void. Think about it like this, roughly 99.999% of all space is a void. Even with the stars, planets, moons, and other objects in space, they are millions if not billions of miles apart from one another.
Alter Reality: Within the void itself, the Dahak may toy with the void to create a Quasi-Physical environment as they see fit. They may also use this to fix or heal parts of their being, as well as that of others. However please note, we not are healers. However in some cases an argument could be made to use the Alter Reality power within the void to heal someone else. As Daemons we heal naturally over a period of time.
These are the basics of the void, I will add more over time.
